Looking ahead to another tie-break day
September 2, 2008

The games of today brought tough fights, long battles. Some players who lost today were able to equalize while many others with a draw from yesterday repeated the previous result in the recent games.

Thus, we are moving to a new day of many tie-break matches. Sedina, Nguyen, Kosintseva N., Cmilyte, Rohonyan, Gaponenko, Harika, Muzychuk, as well as Stefanova and Ju Wenjun will compete with each other tomorrow.

No doubt, the biggest upset is with the incumbent World Champion: Xu Yuhua lost to Matveeva yesterday and could not turn the fate, made only a draw against  Matveeva`s French defence and thus she lost the chance to defend her title.

There are, of course, the happy winners of round two who will have a free day: Hoang Than Trang, Kosintseva Tatiana, Hou Yifan, Pia Cramling, Mrktchian Lillit, Shen Yang, Ruan Lufei and Anna Ushenina.
