Opening ceremony:
August 28, 2008 in Zeleny Theatre
Days of the Championship:
August 29 and 30;
September 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,14,15,16,17
Closing ceremony:
September 18, 2008
The Championship will be held using the electronic clocks. There shall be five rounds of matches, with the winners progressing to the next round.
The 6th round (final round) shall be played to determine the women's world champion.
The time control shall be 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move from move one.
